Curiosity is a trait that both Tris and Tobias share and today that curiosity is leading them to explore the city. Tobias has done it before, crawled over every part of this city that he could get to, but the city constantly changes and there's always more reconnaissance to be done. However, this isn't about information gathering or formulating any sort of a plan. This is about exploring, this is about doing something with Tris that isn't rebellion or survival. It's kind of a date (someone really needs to teach them about dates).
It's still new to the both of them to be able to walk out in the open like this, fingers tangled up, teasing each other without the knowledge that they could be dead tomorrow hanging over their heads. Four isn't sure he'll ever get used to the idea of not having to guard every word, every action but he's trying. It's something he wants desperately, but something he can only achieve in rare moments right now. This is one of those rare moments.
"Race you up the street," he tells her abruptly, a mischievous grin on his face that makes him look younger than he ever looked back home.
